Olivia

Student Support & Sports Mentor

Olivia's role at Horizon Hub is to provide 1:1 support within the Horizon Hub premises, out in the community and in client schools. She helps students to progress and succeed with their targets, as set by the Behaviour Consultant. As part of her role, Olivia also works closely with our Sports Coach Dan, drawing up physical exercise programmes for our students. Olivia's Special Educational Needs background involved spending 18 months working as a Personal Assistant for a young person with additional needs, supporting them within the home and school environment. She then went on to work for many years as an SEN Teaching Assistant, where she provided individualised 1:1 support. Her experience of working with young people presenting with learning, behavioural and social-emotional difficulties and her familiarity of implementing a low arousal technique, has equipped her with a vast array of bespoke skills. She is dedicated and passionate about helping and supporting young people of all ages. Olivia's qualifications include Autism/ADHD & ADD Awareness and Level 2 Sports Coaching. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys partaking in many sports, but football in the main. She enjoys walks, hiking and in particular travelling, which saw her taking 9 months out of her career last year to travel the world. Olivia is now settled back in Harrogate and enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as engaging in nature and the great outdoors, as often as she can.
